Title: Cauliflower Tomato and Green Pea Curry Categories: Main dish, Vegetables Yield: 4 servings 800 g Cauliflower Separated into flowerets 1 1/2 c Fresh or frozen green peas 1 md Onion, thinly sliced 1 ts Mashed garlic 1 ts Grated ginger 4 T Ghee 3/4 ts Turmeric 1 T Ground coriander 1 T Vindaloo paste 2 ts Sugar 2 Cardamoms, opened 3/4 c Yoghurt 2 l Tomatoes, cut into wedges Preparation time: 25 minutes Cooking time: 20 minutes Boil the cauliflower and peas in water until tender. Drain. Cook the onion, garlic and ginger in the ghee until golden and tender. Add the turmeric, coriander, vindaloo, sugar, cardamoms and yoghurt and cook for 3-4 minutes. Add the tomatoes and cook 3-4 minutes. Add cauliflower and peas. Simmer for 3-4 minutes and serve hot with rice. --------------------------------------- Pattani Chundal Seasoned Dried Green Peas Ingredients 1/2 kg dried green peas 1 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 1/2 coconut (grated) Salt to taste For Seasoning 1 tsp mustard seeds 3 red chillies (broken) 1/2 tsp asafoetida powder 6 green chillies (chopped) 3 sprigs curry leaves (chopped) 3 tbsp oil Method Clean, wash and soak green peas overnight. Pressure cook along with turmeric powder till very soft. Heat oil and add mustard seeds, red chillies and asafoetida powder. When brown, add green chillies and curry leaves. Fry for a minute and add boiled green peas and salt. Cook on a low flame till dey. Add grated coconut. Before serving, add the juice of 2 lemons and mix well. Note : You can also add 1/2 cup cooked kala chana with Ammini Kozhakkatti. -------------------- Dried green peas - 2 cups (soaked in water for 3 hrs) Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp Chilly powder - 1/4 tsp Garam masala powder - A pinch Salt - As reqd Onion - 1 no (finely chopped) Raw mango - 1/4 of one (finely chopped) Coriander leaves(chopped) - 1 cup Carrot(grated) - 1/4 cup Preparation Method 1)Heat up a pressure cooker. 2)Add green peas, turmeric powder, chilly powder, garam masala powder and salt along with enough water. 3)Pressure cook, till the peas gets cooked. 4)After opening the lid, add onion, raw mango, carrot and coriander leaves and mix well. 5)Sprinkle some chopped coriander leaves on top ------------------------------------------------
